WARD MELVILLE 18     PATCHOGUE-MEDFORD 5

MAY 4, 2000 THURSDAY 4PM

Ah the Back Field! If the crowd is small enough (it was) you can line the fence that is only a few feet off of  the sideline of the field. The view of the action is as good as being with the team. It's not great for seeing the entire field but when the action is near you, there is nothing like it!

That being said, the Pat-Med game has not been a competitive one in recent history. It was heartening to see that the Pat-Med players kept working hard the entire game, even when, down 10-1, they caught the Patriots flat footed for three quick goals in the first half for a respectable 10-4 score at the break. They would score again late in the fourth for the last time.
As for Melville on attack, let's say they completed some plays.

Good work if you can get it.

Now back to work. Time to get ready for our
cross town rivals. Always a great game. Always hard fought.

But then again...they're always getting ready for a top opponent. That's how they practice. So far, that's how they play.

Work hard. Go Patriots!
