WARD MELVILLE 21 LONGWOOD 4

   Longwood knows the odds and deals with it.  This year they played lacrosse and nothing else. Despite the adversity they passed the ball and moved to position  throughout the game and were rewarded with 4 goals that were not accidental. It was good to see their program taking the game more seriously. But, it wasn't spring time in Middle Island. We had varsity girls and boys and JV girls for one long day in a very cold wind! Even so, the Patriot's went to work. The first defense shows its experience and the last defense is competitive. All three goalies can stop shots. Every midfielder can carry the ball and run the field, and every attackman is quick with his stick and shot. The tradition is building...not just continuing. 

Many good looking plays including numerous hookups between Matty Mo and Todd C along with strong play from Nick Miaritis. Dominant midfield play with some nice connections to cutters and quick sticks. (Congrats to Jordan Funt on his varsity points).
