WARD MELVILLE

LINDENHURST 3
April 13, 2000
The Melville green machine took a few minutes to get going today but it did get going. Contributions were from all personnel, all working for the team game. A no-nonsense defense with top play from the usual suspects and strong performances from Chris Mele and Thomas Theodorakis. Crisp midfield play with the addition of Todd Cunningham to the first midfield and lively play from Will O'Dwyer on the second line. Nice feeding and shooting from Kurt Gerry along with continued performance from Shane Ferraro. Excellent attack combinations by Melville's M&M's joined now by one more M, Soph Jon Matsui with great feeds and handling the ball with confidence. (I guess it could be 3M or M3 or M&M&M's?!@*). Josh Ben-Eliyahu posted points getting time on the first and second attack units (plus a choice look-away feed from Cole Ferraro). The Pats went up 6-1 at the quarter and didn't hit many speed bumps on its way to 22 goals.
Cleaver, DeCollibus, Salvesen, Meier, Middleton, the brothers Funt, Cartier, Rapisarda, Von Bargen, Murphy, and the rest of the Melville gang joined in the action and kept the scoring going in the second half. Woodsy got some quality time and some nice saves while Freud also saw the field. (Please look at the stats for the scoring and saves by the team).
Congratulations to the Patriots for playing a solid game of team lacrosse, with most goals assisted, and most shots denied, and nary a faceoff conceded.
Work hard. One game at a time.
The Patriots face Yorktown on Saturday. Be on the Bus!
